
EQUAL FOUNDATION is a charitable nonprofit
organization founded in 2022 and legally registered as a community foundation
in Kenya Jan 2023. It is registered as a limited Company with no share Capital,
meaning any income or donations made in Favor of the company are directed
towards community projects.
Mission:
To enhance livelihoods and empower marginalized communities, particularly
in semi-arid regions of Kenya, through capacity building, sustainable
development programs, and climate adaptation.
Vision:
To be a leading community-driven organization transforming
lives through sustainable initiatives, promoting economic inclusivity,
environmental stewardship, and resilience.
1. Promote Climate Resilience and Environmental Sustainability
Implement climate change mitigation and adaptation
strategies, including reforestation, biodiversity conservation, and protection
of critical ecosystems such as forests and water catchment areas, to enhance
environmental resilience in vulnerable communities.
Advance sustainable agricultural practices such as
agroforestry, organic farming, food forests, and bio-intensive kitchen gardens
to increase local food production, improve soil health, and strengthen food
sovereignty.
3. Improve Access to Safe Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
Strengthen community access to clean and safe water through sustainable water management practices, promote efficient water use in agriculture, and advocate for participatory water governance to address water scarcity.

4. Empower Youth for Sustainable Development
Equip youth with practical skills, leadership training, and
civic engagement opportunities to enable their active participation in
community development and foster a generation of socially responsible change-makers.
5. Promote Climate-Smart Social Entrepreneurship
Support the development of climate-resilient agricultural
value chains—such as poultry, pig, and dairy goat farming—by offering training,
market access, and financial literacy to boost food security, create jobs, and
foster inclusive economic growth.
Governance
Equal foundation is run by 7 members of the board spearheaded by the chair with representation of 5 men and 2 women. The board is charged with a responsibilities of strategic direction and oversight of the organization. The board is currently serving the second year since appointment and meet in after each quarter
